In the Imtiaz Ali directorial, she played Geet, a lively, talkative, and spirited young woman who meets a heartbroken businessman, Aditya (played by Shahid Kapoor), on a train journey. Their interaction changes the course of both their lives. Her charm, energy, and comic timing were effortless, and the character became iconic in Bollywood cinema. Tham女士没有接受过任何管理方面的培训,也没有管理公司或员工的经验,对洗钱案一无所知,当董事纯纯是受人委托,只想赚点外快…
由于家境贫困,Tham女士在中学三年级时就辍学打工,没有文凭求职自然处处受阻,所以人到30多岁也没有找到过一份稳定的工作,只能打体力活杂工。
2015年的某天,一家名为“JJ&E”的新加坡企业服务提供商联系到她。“JJ&E”服务外国客人,为他们在新加坡当地注册公司,但按《公司法》规定,外国客户注册成立的每家新加坡公司,都至少要拥有一名当地常驻董事,所以他们希望Tham女士能出任JJ&E注册公司的当地董事,并答应给她酬金。
2016年开始,Tham女士摇身一变,从中学没毕业的清洁女工,变成了多家公司的董事…截止于2018年4月12日,她已经是127家公司的董事,之前也曾当过另外14家公司的董事,每家公司每年会给她2000新元(约10669元人民币),是她挂名的酬劳。
据Tham女士说,她在任职之前和任职期间没有对这些公司做任何调查,也没有详细了解过外籍董事的资料,甚至不知道公司在经营什么业务,更是没有见过这些外籍董事们…
公司财务方面,她没有看过公司的账目、银行账户,到手的文件、支票本都直接寄给外国顾客,从头到尾她只负责在公司的文件上签名,拿钱办事,连知情的程度都没到…
Tham女士原本还很开心能用这样的方式轻松挣钱,完全没有意识到这种做法的危险性…
据法庭文件显示,Tham女士在2017年12月到2018年2月期间,在JJ&E注册成立的三家公司做当地董事,这三家公司进行了多起商业电子邮件泄露诈骗,银行账户总共收到了约389万新元(约2075万元人民币),都是欺诈所得…
公司成立后,Tham女士就放弃了所有当地银行账户的控制权,无法访问这些公司的账户设施或银行对账单,账户由公司的外国董事们掌控。
但事发后,Tham女士作为公司的当地董事,自然被牵扯进诈骗事件,被告上法庭,尽管她对于自己的身份和处境毫无概念…
除了被指控违反《公司法》三项罪行,Tham女士还被指控在当三家公司董事期间没有履行职责,没有尽到监督和尽职调查的义务,导致这三家公司钻空子,从外国诈骗受害者那里取得非法收益。
审判过程中,Tham女士拼命向法官求情,称自己从头到尾什么都没做,对诈骗也是毫不知情,而且在发现公司有问题后也立马辞职了。

最后法官酌情,判处Tham女士有期徒刑16天,5年内不能担任公司董事。
